Red French Chateau Fontenil 2015

This signature wine from Chateau Fontenil is a bold, rich blend from Bordeaux’s Right Bank, combining 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc. It features aromas of ripe blackcurrants, cherries, and blackberry jam, accented by subtle notes of lavender and licorice. Its deep purple-red hue reflects the intensity within, making it an excellent choice for fans of fruit-forward reds. Crafted by the renowned winemakers Michel and Dany Rolland in the Fronsac appellation, the vineyard’s rocky clay and limestone soils along with deep chalk layers give the wine both power and pronounced minerality. On the palate, expect a complex blend of black berries, plum, fresh herbs, and tobacco, balanced by lively acidity and finished with a chalky mineral touch. The wine matured 15 to 18 months in French oak barrels and can age gracefully for over a decade. Perfectly paired with roasted game, aged cheeses, or confit dishes.
