Red Italian Isole e Olena Syrah 2017 wine

The Red Italian Isole e Olena Syrah 2017 is a dense, aromatic, and intensely flavored wine that should be decanted for at least an hour before serving. With a dark ruby color, this wine offers a bouquet of red and black berry fruit notes, along with hints of tobacco, toast, Provencal herbs, leather, and bacon. Despite being almost 10 years old, the wine still maintains a densely fruity core and has the potential for further aging. Reminiscent of wines from the Northern Rhone region, this wine pairs best with meat dishes such as barbecued pork or beef, steak, game, or sausages. The 4th generation winemaker at Isole E Olena, Paolo De Marchi, initially planted Syrah to add to his Chianti Classico blend. However, after realizing the potential of Syrah in the Tuscan climate, he decided to create a single varietal, 100% Syrah wine. With plants procured from the Rhone in France and more clones planted in a new vineyard, this wine has received critical acclaim and is now one of the most sought-after Syrahs from Italy. It has proven that Italian Syrah can compete with the best in the world.
