Red California La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2022 wine

The La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2022 is a red wine from California that may benefit from being allowed to breathe for 30 minutes before serving, although decanting is optional. La Crema, originally known as La Crema Vinera, was established in 1979 in the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. Over the years, the winery has expanded its vineyard selection to include grapes from various cool-climate appellations in California and Oregon.

In 1993, the winery was acquired by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banke, who focused on cultivating the delicate Pinot Noir grape, which was not widely used in California at the time. The Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is now La Crema’s flagship wine, made entirely from this grape variety sourced from the Sonoma Coast AVA. It offers bold aromas of dark fruit, with flavors of blackberry, cherry, tobacco, and leather.

This dry red wine pairs well with salty meats and sweet dishes like stuffed dates wrapped in bacon or glazed ham.

Red Oregon La Crema Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021 wine

The 2021 Red Oregon La Crema Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a smooth and elegant wine that does not require decanting, but benefits from being opened half an hour before serving. La Crema, a family-owned winery established in 1979 as La Crema Vinera, meaning “the best of the vineyard,” is known for its high-quality wines sourced from carefully selected vineyards in cool-climate regions like California and now Oregon. The winery’s main headquarters are located in the Russian River Valley, California.

The Pinot Noir grapes used in this wine are hand-picked from vineyards in Oregon’s renowned Willamette Valley. After a brief cold maceration, fermentation occurs in open tanks, followed by a 6-month aging process in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new. This meticulous process results in a wine with a rich, complex flavor profile that captures the essence of the region’s terroir.

Lagvinari Mtsvane Kakhuri 2021 is a Georgian white wine with a rich amber color. It offers aromas of dried apricot, white peach, melon, and a touch of smoke. Made from the indigenous Mtsvane grape variety, which means “green” in Georgian, symbolizing freshness.

The grapes were sourced from Kartli and fermented in clay amphorae underground, known as qvevri. Produced by Lagvinari, a winery in Kakheti near the Alazani River, founded by Dr. Eko Glonti, a former cardio anesthesiologist turned winemaker.

His wines have gained international acclaim for their quality and are featured in top restaurants worldwide. Dr. Glonti’s background in medicine influences his winemaking approach, focusing on minimal intervention and organic practices in the vineyard.
