Ktima Gerovassiliou Evangelo 2021 Greek red wine

Ktima Gerovassiliou Evangelo 2021 is a Greek red wine crafted by Vangelis Gerovassiliou, who returned to his family’s vineyards in 1981 after studying viticulture and working in renowned wineries in Greece. The winery, spanning 48 hectares, is known for its exceptional whites made from Assyrtiko, Malagousia, and Chardonnay, as well as robust reds like the bold Syrah. This Syrah is influenced by Rhone Valley traditions, with a touch of Viognier added before fermentation to enhance aromatics and soften the intense Syrah profile.

After fermenting in 40-hectolitre Burgundian barrels, the wine undergoes an extended aging process, resulting in a rich and velvety smooth red wine. The wine boasts a deep inky ruby color and intense aromas of dark plums, wild berries, bitter chocolate, and polished leather. Firm tannins make it an excellent match for hearty red meat dishes or game, and it can also be cellared for further aging.
